In this quick post I want to recommend a serial of podcasts I came across: Learning by ear - provided by Deutsche Welle.
Learning by ear is an audio programme that offers content in various subcategories like Politics, Culture, Economy etc. All episodes are written by African authors and produced in Africa with African actors. The content is available in six languages: English, Kiswahili, French, Hausa, Portuguese and Amharic.

I’ve listened to several episodes of the French programmes so far and I really enjoyed all of them. They provide an interesting inside to countries and regions I don’t know very much. I will definitely subscribe to the Portuguese shows as well.
Another advantage: listening to these episodes is also a great opportunity to practise understanding accents.
If you subscribe to the podcasts with RSS you can choose between the languages and also between the subcategories.
