Im Internet, aber auch in Buchläden findet man unzählige Materialien für Sprachlerner und jeder von uns bevorzugt ganz bestimmte Methoden und Unterlagen. Auf dieser Seite möchte ich euch einen Einblick in meine ganz persönliche Werkzeugkiste geben und euch die Dinge vorstellen, die ich regelmäßig nutze.

Hinweis: In meinem Werkzeugkasten findet ihr sowohl Ressourcen, die gratis verfügbar sind, als auch solche, die zu bezahlen sind. Es gibt sogar eine Online-Zeitschrift zum Thema Sprachenlernen - und sie ist sogar gratis! Parrot time wird von Erik Zidowecki herausgegeben und erscheint alle zwei Monate. Der Umfang der Inhalte ist unglaublich! Schaut es euch mal an!
Wenn ihr mit dem Sprachenlernen erst begonnen habt und euch einfach mal in die Materie einlesen möchtet bzw. euch etw. Motivation holen wollt, dann solltet ihr euch Benny Lewis‘ BuchFluent in 3 Months besorgen.

– Judith Meyer hat in diesem Buch 72 verschiedene Methoden gesammelt, die gratis sind. Das Buch gibt es für Japanisch, Deutsch, Französisch und Spanisch. Ich habe das Buch für Spanisch gelesen und habe darin viele super Tipps gefunden.
Finding Your Way to Languages von Erik Zidowecki ist ein super Buch, dass den Leser durch die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten und Werkzeuge, die es auf dem Markt gibt, führt. Ein toller Kompass, um das nächste Sprachprojekt zu planen.
The actual Fluency Podcast – von Chris Broholm (Sprache: Englisch)
Sehr abwechslungsreiche Show mit vielen interessanten Gästen. Erscheint jeden Freitag Abend - sehr empfehlenswert!
Einige ambitionierte Sprachenlerner veröffentlich auch Videos über Ihre Projekte und Fortschritte bzw. ihre Meinung über verschiedene Themen. Ich habe einige der You-Tube-Kanäle abonniert - manche werden öfter aktualisiert, weniger oft. Aber in den jeweiligen Archiven findet ihr oft auch interessante Videos.

Vocabulary & Dictionaries
Anki is my personal number one tool for studying vocabulary and it’s absolutely free! I wrote a serial about how to use Anki effectively.
Forvo.com – a dictionary where all the words are pronounced by native speakers.
Tatoeba.org – a dictionary for finding sentences.
Pons.eu This dictionary is usually my first choice and it’s available for many language combinations. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t rely on one dictionary only and sometimes it’s better to consult a second or third one.
Linguee is a databata for translations and available for many language combinations. It’s my first reference for my translations but you can also use it as a dictionary.
Picture dictionaries
I love picture dictionaries and I have several books of “Visuelles Wörterbuch Deutsch - xx”. It’s available in combinations with English.
Language courses
Duolingo – Duolingo is a fun way to learn a language and they are constantly offering more language combinations. Some people learn a language only with Duolingo, but I only use it for practise.

Langenscheidt Sprachkurse
Ok, this tip might be useless for some of you, because they courses are usually written in German. But it’s the one language course I usually use when learning a new language.

Reading
6 Reasons why you should start reading at an early stage
Wikipedia – Wikipedia is a free “bookstore” available in a ton of languages.
Kindle - I love my kindle! It’s not only one of the most convenient things I’ve ever bought, it’s also great for reading in foreign languages. It’s easier to buy literature in foreign languages and you can easily convert texts (e.g. from Wikipedia) into pdfs and send them to your kindle. I use the basic model, but there are many different models available.
I’m a passionate reader of crime stories à la Agatha Christie. It’s a bit hard to collect here all books that I recommend, but I plan to publish blog posts that recommend crime stories related to different topics.

There is only one resource I use for speaking but I’m really happy with it - Italki
On Italki you can find professional teachers and tutors (paid options) or language exchange partners (free). I only work with teachers and tutors and haven’t tried the language exchange. I’m really satisfied with the people I work with. You can check out my profile “Dani87” and see with whom I’ve been working so far.
TV online
Euronews (YouTube) – has channels in more than 10 different languages. Often a transcript of the text is provided in the info box. Just search for Euronews, and make sure check also pages 2 and 3 of the search results to find different channles.
TedX Talks – talks about different topics, conveniently sorted by language
